Norwalk switches to NHRA

Norwalk has/will switch to NHRA sanction and will host the Pontiac Excitement Nationals in 2007(formerly at National Trail Raceway in Columbus), and a new IHRA track will be built in Mansfield Ohio to host the IHRA World Finals.

Now there will be a NHRA National Event close to Detroit.

Thats awesome news. And Mansfield isn't that much farther than norwalk, maybe 1/2 hour or so? Damn, if you live in central ohio you have alot of choices!

Damn, national Trail is so damn cool with the intersection with the highway and the traffic signal keeping people from crossing when fuel cars are running and all. Too bad it's off the schedule.

Does this mean that at 12.0 you need a bar instead of 11.5? I guess they never check at rentals, but still.

You still don't need a bar until you go 11.49 or quicker, unless it's a 'vert, then it's 13.49 or quicker. NHRA lowered this ET spec. some time ago.

I think we will be looking for volunteers to run the time slips up at the line again this year. That should give us a few extra warning runs for the usual suspects. :)

hummmmmm i wounder if Milan is next for the NHRA...I know its IHRA..but still it would be pretty cool..

Dont hold your breath, the owners wont invest the money to bring Milan up to NHRA specs. Norwalk will be investing millions to pave the entire Pro pits and build sky boxes, you wont see that happen at Milan
