No replacement for Displacement?

Does this hold true with a turbo motor? May have the oppurtunity to pick up a engine setup which I believe is a 308 SBF (.040 over with a stock stroke crank) Dart block, lightened forged crank. Anyways, what would be the advantage to running lets say a 331 or 347 versus a 302-310ci with a turbo? Granted I want to make 800-1000RWHP with this motor, and run it on E85. Would the extra 30-40ci make a big difference especially since I'm gonna be pumping the motor full of air anyways? I've heard mixed opinions on 347 motors that the long stroke is hard on parts especially with a street car. Would this number be attainable with a 76-80mm turbo with a good flowing set of heads and 10:1 compression? Would a 205-225cc head be too big for a 308?

From what I was told by my engine builder the bigger bore will unshroud the valves making your heads flow better with a lesser head. This is one reason I went with a 4.125 bore. As far as the stroker size Id say go big , I called a few engine builders ( Lidio , woody at ford strokers , ect) and they all said the same

Few things to consider. More cubes will always be easier to make more power and remain streetable. IMO even a Dart block 302 I would shy away from at the power levels your wanting. I'd go straight to a 351 base Dart block and do something like a 385-408ci. Its not the integrity of the block I'm worried about on the 302, its the crank shaft itself. For a turbo application I would also RUN away from a 347. It has such a shitty rod ratio, and it side loads the hell out of the skirts and the bores. I'd think the 308-331-363ci options are much more suited for a street car, regardless of being turbo charged or not. As far as your question of power between the 308-310 and the 331-347, I can't see there being much if any. Only reason you might net more power with the 308-310 would be the pistons/rings ability to seal up in the bore better. I've seen people put down 800hp on a 76mm before. Street driving as well....... just wasn't on a sbf. Can't see why it still isn't possible though.
