You would know if he wasn't neutered as he would still have his balls Humping is usually a sign of dominance. He is probably trying to be the dominate dog. You should correct the behavior when it happens.

I do correct him when he trys to hump her. he is going to my vet this week for a complete checkup and I am going to have them check his testicles as well. I had a male black lab years ago ( he was my only dog) and he humped everything and everybody. It was a terrbile habit. parents come over to visit and he humps their legs!! ugh
