My buddy got ripped off by someone who sold him a supposidly good motor and trans, long story short it ran for all of 20 miles. So if anyone has a line on a good used complete 5.0 mustang motor (fuel injected) let me know, he's not looking to drop alot of cash, so im not looking for anything fancy. Also, a good trans, AOD or T5 would be nice.

Thanks,
Ryan

I have a 306ci and a T5. Runs strong. $1000

thanks guys but im lookin for somthing semi cheap, i found a few complete motors for $250 on CL but they were gone by the time i called.

whats wrong with his motor?

well when he first got the car 93 GT vert, he made the mistake of buying from a couple crack heads. The car didnt move worth a damn, for some reason the prior owners put a 3k converter in a stock car. So he had a stock converter put in and it somewhat fixed it, but the trans ended up getting all fucked up. So convinced he had a shit trans, he also thought the motor was bad, so he bought a motor/trans from someone on CL, it was a carbbed motor, supposedly 302, and was bolted to a C6 trans, my buddy isnt that car smart so he bought the setup, and paid people who didnt know what they were doing to swap everything out.

so after a whole summer of random people working on the car, and realizing a C6 is not like the aod that was in the car, he finally get a computer to operate the car with the C6, i helped him a few days ago fix a trans leak, and drove the car, it drove and accelerated ok other than the fact i wouldnt take it above 4k rpms because it had a BAD vibration. I told him not drive it until i could get a buddy who knows the 5.0's well take a look at it. the next day my buddy calls and tells me the car started overheating, then lost oil pressure and started knocking......

so i figured i would see if i could help him find a good complete set up and swap it for him.....thats a huge long story in a very small nutshell.

Bump, rod exited the side of the block today, blowing all the oil out onto the headers which then caught fire....luckily the fire damage was minimal but there was rod pieces laying in the road...

Sounds like someone put 28oz shit with 50oz shit. Not a good combo.

I have a good running 87 GT 5.0L engine. Car was all stock and nice. $500 plus tax. 30 day warranty. No trans though, sorry.

I might have a complete setup for ya in a couple weeks, I will let you know if you haven't got anything by then.

yeah that would be great, he wont have money for a couple weeks anyway and he isnt planning on getting the car running till next spring....it will be a winter project. I'd greatly prefere to buy from someone on motown since the last motor he bought on CL put a rod through the block within 50 miles...

oh damn. I should have about everything he needs for it... mass air meter, throttle body, intake, egr, injectors, water pump, starter, power steering, motor, bell housing, stock clutch, flywheel, t5, shifter, and a 3.73 5 lug rear end if he's interested too
