Need to quiet noisy AC clutch

The AC clutch on my Z28 makes a sound similar to dragging a tailpipe when the AC is off. When the AC comes on, it goes away and gets quit. The AC works fine, but it is annoyingly loud at idle. I plan on changing it this winter, I just don't want to fuck with it/pay for it right now. Anyone have a suggestion for shutting this thing up?

Try prying the clutch away from the idler pulley. thats about it.

Sorry, I am a typo machine. I usually catch them in the post but missed it in the title. Any ideas on the clutch?

The ls1's have a seperate drive belt for the AC so you just have to take it off all together, hey geoff, how bout ou take the whole AC system off of it and sell it to me for mine??? that'll make it quiet :D other then that basically what sean said, just try prying it, or changing the compressor if its that annoying
