Need legal advice on family member scamiing my mom

I will try and keep this simple. My step brother is trying to scam my mom. My mother and step dad have been together for about 25 years. My step dad is dying of a brain tumor. He does not have long. about a year or so ago he was getting very violent and tried to kill my mom more then once from the tumor. He was staying with is son for months when he found out the tumor is growing and its to last to work on it. We have Hospice and he is back home and can not say much more than yes or no if he tries very hard and only has use of one side of his body. Now the interesting thing is when he was at his sons he has his pention going into an account in his sons and his name and cashing his social securty check. a large amount of money was taken out of my moms and sep dads account more then he will make in the next few years put together and put into an account with my sep brother and dad. He will not give up any of his dads money his pention, social security, drivers licence all the mail he had changed to his house. my step dad is not healthy enough to get much out and it took my step dad beging a social worker to come home for my step brother to let him go. Without that help of social worker he would still be there instead of home with my mom where he wanted to be. My sep brother disowned his dad for going home and my other step brother and alot of the family because of this. Because he does not want to give up my moms and step dads money and is hoping he passes before my mom can get herself together to fight him.By the way she spent the last of her money my step brother did not get on a lawyer when my step brother stried to devorce my mom. The judge throw that out the first day. After 25 years my step brother things my moms is a gold digger that was after his dads money. The funny thing is his mom left my step dad with nothing and he lived with me and my mom for the first two years till he got back on his feet 25 years ago. I AM JUST VENTING, AND NEED ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO HELP MY MOM GET MY STEP DADS THING IN ORDER. ANY HELP AND ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT.

I would go into the bank and make sure you have the bank put a flag on the account that nobody is allowed in that account unless its your mother!

That and if you already have made contact with social worker, maybe get a power of attorney written up so she change make the changes quick. Hopefully, they have a will already made out so things don't get stuck in probate.

You need an Attorney to get your mother appointed
your dads POA (power of attorney) to sign & care for
the finances & medical decisions ASAP.

Thanks, I know. I just like to see what other people think about this crazy shit. She has a lawyer on it now. to use up some more of their money.

If he is unable to care for himself and make rational decisions, go to the probate court and obtain forms for a conservatorship.
Ct will appoint a conservator (family) and they will account to the judge for money.

Would that be now or after. And what can she do to get his personal items back now?
