QUASAR said:There is newer radar called POP radar that is hard for detectors to detect but I highly doubt any squad car in our area has that. Usually its states like Ohio, Georgia and Florida that spend the $$$ for the absolute latest and greatest in speed detection.
I get pop warnings around my area all the time, now that I have it turned it on.
I didn't think there was POP here in MI either, but the cops around belleville and vanburen have it. and Joe (duke) says by him in new boston, they have it too. thats why he convinced me to turn it on.
passport 8500 FTW!
as far as to why you didn't get a warning, maybe it was POP and you dont have that setting enabled all the time, OR maybe its a slightly older V1 and it needs to upgraded. OR he got you with laser, and the refraction of the beam didn't set the detector off. (yes, this can happen). depends on what he targets, the angle and how far away he is. (its rare tho).
OR, he was pacing you; and using tae newer type pf radar that can detect cars moving the same direction as the patrol car. I forget the exact name atm. OR, he was guaging your speed and yes, a policemans training on estimating speed can be used. so its just a matter of " I could tell he was speeding" and write you a ticket. rare as well, since its so easy to write speeding tickets all day if you really want too.
