Need help with a bike

1981 yamaha virago 750. My neighbor did something to it and now he can't get it to run. He needs someone to help him work on it. The story he told me is he washed it, it blew some seal so he pulled the carb to put in the intake seal decided to rebuild the carb and it won't run.

Tell him good luck. He shouldn't have messed with the carbs if he didnt know EXACTlY what he was doing. Those diaphram style carbs are a joke, I wont even touch them. The thing to do was just to repalce them outright with convetial style mikuni carbs, a lot of the sport bike guys do it. Then sycronizing them is even harder. He probably best off going to an expert and pay the $$$ at a dealership.

Well thanks hemi. He did buy a new carb. He's just looking for a hand not someone like you telling him he shouldn't have done it and i'm glad you not touching it. why go to an expert? maybe he WANTS to learn how to do things for himself intead of rambling on like a retard like everyone of your posts.

If you shouldn't do something because you might not know what your doing is the most retarded statement I have ever heard, but then again I have to consider the source of the statement. :pow:

You know what. I tend to over look alot of your post but if you have nothing positive to add about someone trying something on there own then go fuck yourself. I'm normally an easy going guy and not much pisses me off but if you don't have anything positive to add to anything shut you hole and move on to something else. A guy is asking for help and I know there is alot of knowledable people here.
 
Pending how things go tomorrow.. (got to people bringing cars over) i'll give ya call and maybe i can swing by later in the week with my buddy he's good with bikes.
 
Just jump on the badwagon, thats the easiest thing to do. Oh wash that sand out of yer vagina. Maybe the post was a little negative, but those carbs are a mess. Guess I didnt get that point across.

If more people listened to that the less things would get fucked up. If thats a retarted statement, then well i guess you should consider what your saying. I'm not going to try and weld in my roll cage even though I dont know how to weld.

Cool just shoot him a call. He's pretty flexable. Appreciate it. He just want to get it going so he can take it for a cruise through hines park.
I might pick up a nice used bike too but it has 4 carbs on it that needs to be tuned. I still have to talk to the guy. He put some sort of stroker motor in it and bored it out.
I have to think about buying a bike tho. after my last wreck i'm still a bit leary on riding again. :lol:

I did mine. Welded everything went and bought a welder all the material. Brought some welding buddies over and I welded everything in. I just asked questions and welded away. Guess what it passes tech everytime I take it to the track and that was the first thing I ever welded in my life.

If your not willing to try something and learn from your mistakes than life must really suck for you. Everything in life is about trial an error. If i fail I try again. I gain wisdom from every failure and gain knowledge from every question asked. And I'm am now done with this.
Jim was asking for some help I said I'd throw it on MM because there are knowledgeable people who ride bikes here who might want to make some $$$ and give him a hand. If you knew nothing about it you should have just posted good luck or just read another thread period.

He also did have someone look at it WHO knows about bikes and became dumb founded, It all happend after he washed his bike it all went to hell after that.
