need help with 5.0 cam

alright i got an 88 5-speed notchback. Runs and shifts well to,but anyway which cam should I get because im putting a set gt40p and an explorer. The car has full exhaust and 3.73s are in the future. Oh this is my daily driver too,nothing too extreme.

I think a Stock 5.0 H.O. camshaft with 1.72 roller rockers would work well for you.

My main reason is cause ya have Speed Density, and it's sensitive to modding, it won't like a camshaft too much. You could always change to Mass Air though, unless it has been converted already???

The H.O. cam would also work well in unison with all the other mods you listed, would have good midrange for the 5 speed, and it won't present the possible hassles of a daily driving a cammed car.

Plus, stock cams really are decent grinds that can perform well. Not to mention will save ya a bit of work.

I agree. The stock cam makes great power. You probably won't gain much if anything switching to a lumpy cam.
