Need help waking up my car.

I have an 82 Mustang GT that I need to liven up a bit. It has a 302 non roller motor in it with stock heads, Aftermarket headers, Edelbrock performer intake, holley 750 vac seconday carb, stock ignition and the 351W cam. What are some things i can do to pep this thing up? I don't want to get to crazy with it right now as i'm expecting a little one soon. Maybe a cam swap that doesn't require notching the pistons or changing out too many parts. The car right now moves pretty good for the little it has done to it but I know my bigest problem id the junk SROD 4speed that's in it. Second to third shift is a turd. Give me some ideas and if you do suggest a cam swap please let me know what I should get.

Kevin I have a E303 non-roller out of my old motor you can have if you come get it it will fit all the stock stuff.. I think I have springs for it too..
