Need freight shipping recommendations please

How do you guys ship stuff freight? I have a transmission I need to ship. I assume strapping it to a pallet is the best, but I got 3 quotes this morning from Fastenal, FedEx Freight and RL Carries and the cheapest one was $380. That is more than I sold the trans for. Seems like unless you have an account somewhere no one will even talk to you much less give you a good price.

I've heard of some guys using 3PL (Fastenal) and Grayhound, might be worth a shot.

grayhound. Strap it down good to a good pallet and bubble wrap it.

I just shipped a trans jack in the original box to Minnesota. It was 157 lbs. Cost me $155 through UPS freight.

If ups was too much, dhl might do it for a decent price.

I use RL Carriers when I need shipping....Had engines, trans and all the chromoly I get for cages from AED ships using RL.
