87 LX 4cyl to 8 cyl swap. I am replacing the front brake hoses. got brackets from a donor car, and brand new dorman hoses after realizing the c-clip that comes on the new brake hose is not supposed to replace the existing c-clip. it is there to create a backing plate for the bracket to rest on and then the existing c-clip is supposed to sandwich the bracket in between. whats wrong with that is the distance between the c-clips is larger than the thickness of the bracket. so there is some play. and the existing c-clip inner diameter is larger than the diameter of the valley that its supposed to clip into. any ideas?
