Need advise

Okay so this "friend" of mine comes over to help me today with some pipe issue. 5 minutes before they get here I put a memory stick on a cabinet by the door. I have to run next door to get a flash light, I didnt think anything of it. This is a friend, Lauren wants to show them her new pet fish. The fish bowl is on the same cabinet. So we get the fish down and I go to put laurens shoes on and the "friend" puts the fish back up on the cabinet. That person leaves and 5 minutes later I go to grab the stick to transfer some files and its gone.

This person has a bit of a police history and they keep denying they have it... Do I call the police and let them work it out ?

It really sucks because I thought I could trust this person in my house. I thought they were at least my friend.

Tough call.. definitely not a "friend" obviously. You could write it off and take it as lesson learned or if you're really pissed off and want to make trouble for this person call the cops and let them deal with it. But i doubt without any proof they'll get very far unless they can get the perp to admit it.

I would double and triple check behind and underneath the cabinet, make sure it didn't fall back there when the fish bowl got put back up.
