My NAIAS Pics

Any info on that white car that had the "Revenge" mats around it?

It is a messaged factory five GTM body but that is the only factory five thing about the car. The founder of the company is an Australian who worked for Holden for 25 years and for GM N/A for 5 years before starting the company. Has an LS7 crate motor, weighs about 2500 lbs. Air ride with three settings. top speed of 182 pending the addition of a front splitter at which time they'll open it up and so it'll do over 200. All production ready, going to start deliery of them in a few weeks at $150k. We talked to the girl that was with the car for a long time. The only person in any booth that knew a damn thing and she was cute on top of it. You can sort of see her sitting in one picture, although not very well.

Someone on another board made light of the happy Mazda and I responded with my thoughts, based on the reaction I thought I would post it here too.

This says hi, i'm gay

does the last one transform into an autobot?

Interestingly enough, it did sit adjacent to the Corvette and the Camaro so they did have all the Chevrolet T2 cars close together. You can actually see the nose of the Vette in the left of the picture and the Vette was directly next to the Camaro.

Every time I see that thing the song We've got the Beat pops into my head. Damn them for calling it that. Even now that it's the Spark, it was still the Beat and that's what I think when I look at it.

and what was up with that white challenger in the basement? there was a dent in the quarter panel, and the fender and door were a different white than the rest of the car and it had terrible orange peel. guessing it tagged a wall pretty good, what made that car special? those rims were hideous too.

The white Challenger was just part of a then and now display. I honestly didn't really look at it that closely. I was just shooting it in a manner to get the 70 behind it. The Mustangs, Challengers and Caddys were all in the same little display.

I remember Aisin being in the current Escape Hybrid trans too from its cutaway last year. One of the Ford booth announcers was saying the Fusion hybrid was going to be something that none of the other company's hybrids had. Then i saw AISIN in big letters across the board and became rather skeptical. You seem to have validated my skepticism.

Aisin is our mother company, i Work for AWTEC, a branch of aisin, we do remanufacturing for almost every manufacturer out there other than chrysler and honda. we are also manufacturing new transmissions for a few toyotas, the fusion, and some others, i cant remember. we have one of the ecape hybrids at my work, they said the fusion is a way better hybrid car, the gas motor doesnt kick in untill you hit 40.

Aisin is also making the transmissions for the new camaros to, the v6 powered ones.

we also do the navigation systems too. we have a fully loaded brand new '08 Escalade. all they use it for is to test the systems. there are also a bunch of other brand new cars just sitting around

Yeah, Aisin has a few GM manuals. One of the GM manual trans development guy for the Aisin equipped products was with me when I took the pictures. Aisin is in the Kappas and GMT-355's too.
