My mustang won't start all the time.

I have a 92 convertible mustang. I'm having trouble with it starting sometimes. Once in a while I get into start my car and it just clicks so one time i jacked up the car on passenger side lower a-arm to look at the starter to see if the wires were tight. They were tight so I left the car jacked up and tried to start it and it fired right up. The car has done this alot lately if it just clicks i jack up the car on the same side and the same wheel and the car starts up what could it be. If you have an answer let me know I want to get this car fixed and on the road again soon thanks.

Sounds like the starter solenoid or something

willing to bet its the solenoid... if it is clicking every time the relay is fine. next time it acts up on you jack the car up and smack the solenoid lightly with a hammer if it engages you found your issue... i would just buy a new starter i don't know if they are rebuild able or not or what

sounds like a bad spot in the starter solenoid. Time for a new starter.
