I was bored yesterday so I jumped in my moms firebird and snapped some pictures. I didnt realize until I got home that the ISO was not set right, so some of the pictures are kind of grainy looking.

Very nice :D

Wasn't that called a Firebird Spirit or something like that?

It was named Firebird Esprit. IIRC, there were a number of special models (Red Bird, Sky Bird, Yellow Bird?) that were offered. And yes, I remember when these cars were new....lol

This is a nice looking survivor -- wat are the specs (engine, trans, mods)?

That was it, thanks :D

Thanks guys. Yes its a Esprit Skybird. They were only made in 77/78 and most of them are all rotted away by now. I've only seen one other one. The car is mostly stock, completely original paint, and interior. The 305sbc was pulled out, cleaned up, and we put a little cam in it, edelbrock intake, new valve springs, headers, carb, ignition, rebuilt the th350, and just little stuff. Id like us to do sort of a pro touring thing with it, with some nice suspension, brakes, and a set of CCWs, but don't wanna get too out of hand because its so rare.

Nice! I used to have a 78 T/A. I too wanted to do the pro touring thing with it. But never enough time or $$. And then the ex wife got it in the divorce. Oh well, I wanted my Camaro anyway.

Nice ride! Good to see other 77-78's around here. The great lakes firebird show at Cabela's was canceled this year, but I saw a nice Red Bird there last year. When I was a kid in Ypsilanti the neighbor had a new Sky Bird 2 doors down, and that car always stuck in my memory for some reason. Pretty rare! Here's my '77 TA.
