My million dollar trans...lol (sandrail )

been some talk about sandrails..so i though some of u would get a kick out of this...im still in shock i had to spend 7g for a damn trans..but alteast it finaly got droped off at my shop from cali today :) happy monday to me..lol

Very very very small parts that are very very strong cost lots and lots of money. Then add in the fact that it includes the differential... :icon_psyc

yess yesss they are..some of diffently up in the 25k range


friend of mine..in the blew by you 2 car..terry dowker..has 18 or 19k it to his trans...behind a 700hp n/a ls motor :P

it was straped to a crate..ok well a pallet..and shrik raped..

the clutch is tiny..so packing tape was almost overkill..lol its a 6 puck clutch but can about fit in my pulm of my hand. haha

thats a damn good question...basicly because..theres only about 3 brands for compation..and nothing else can hold the power..and beable to keep the travel.. and there custom made case's and gears etc..so i expect them to be pricey..but still riduclous ..butttt no matter how pissed i im..theres really no other choice so i still had to buy one..or cut my frame all up to do something totaly differint..orrrr make half the hp im going to make would also fix the trans problem..
 
soo alil power to weight ratio thinging...we finish my cuz rail..his has a n/a 2.4 and i couldnt beat him..it was pretty close both times...my truck runs a best of 12.300..so needless to say he is deep in the 12s

now mine being a long travel will be alil heaver bigger shocks..bigger a arms..plus body work so say its 1500lbs at the most..and makes 400hp on turbo 2.0 ecotec...and now has a trans thats gear for the setup also.. sooo how fast is this thing really gonna be??..should be fun :)

tell me about it!!..out of money..and out of time..lol story of my life..

looks like i might have to do some cuttin and weldin to get it to fit..its alil bigger then the only 6rib vw trans that i tabbed the frame for
 
Cool stuff! I hear ya on the trans. When I can build my Ultima or SLC I will need either a porsche or getrag transaxle. They range from $7-$15k. :eek:
