Here are some pictures of my 1989 LX. The body is pretty straight apart from a drivers side fender that was replaced, then spray painted in place. The fender was dented in spots, so I picked up a new one. The rear bumper cover was also spray painted. It looks damn near like white primer. The exhaust marks on it won't even wash off.
The decal in the rear window is an especially nice touch........(GHEY)
I am also unsure of the rear wing. It looks kinda like the previous owner stacked a Saleen wing on a stock LX wing?
The HVAC system was also yanked.
The interior is dirty and stained.

The engine is supposedly a 331. I am about sure it is a stock 302 though. It does have a lumpy cam, 650 Holley, MSD ignition and distributor, Performer RPM intake, long tubes, Flowmaster exhaust, C4 with a loose converter. 3.73's out back.

So far I have reinstalled the HVAC system so I have heat, fixed the electric fan, welded metal to the floor to support the shifter (ex 5-speed car), and removed the junky fender and headlights. Over the winter I plan to remove the ultra gay racing stripes and window decal, install the new fender and get the body ready for another coat of white paint.

Here is the mess:

Any idea what can clean these seats?

Notice the paper clip hanging by the steering wheel. The fan relay was bad, so he ran the fan to direct power and connected the ground with the paper clip. Sexy.

that car should be sweet once you de-funk it, lol, it would be nice to find out if it is a 331 though, try pomolive dish soap, a hard brush and a shop vac on the seats and carpet, i have cleaned up worse= tom

I have all the parts to swap it back to a 5 speed and efi if you want to go back that route. I also have a ton of bolt ons.

that wing is an lx saleen wing.

those are water stains on the seats. get some upholstery cleaner and use lots of water and a shopvac...youd prob be best off taking them out of the car, powerwashing them, then sucking them dry with a shopvac and drying them out indoors with a fan on them for a weekend

A little progress in the warm weather we had last week. I put on a new fender, and bumper cover, removed all the trim and started sanding it down.

I've been on the fence about the spoiler. I did not like it at all when I first saw it. I'll probably broom it on Egay.
I got the hood sanded down today at least. I felt myself starting to get sick of sanding so I stopped.
I am going to *try* to clean the seats up, but if that does not work i'll hit you up.

How about the spraybomb overspray on the tail lights? Classy and sexy?

Try a little compound and a rubbing wheel they usually polish up and clean off spraypaint very well that is what i had to do to mine. Project looks like fun should b a nice car when it is done. btw ive got another GT spoiler for the back if u decide to ditch that one.
