The truck is complete, for now.
I recently picked up this 2010 FX2 August 4th from the local dealership here in Texas at a killer price. The factory FX appearance package is great, but it still left me wanting more. I thought up a list of items that I knew I needed to complete the look I was after: "CLEAN !"
On the list of items were:
- A clean/chiseled and modern 6-spoke wheel that wasn't gaudy like 90% of the aftermarket wheel choices. (20x9 cast aluminum silver/machined +25mm offset)
- A clean/chiseled and modern tire that was moderately aggressive with excellent road manners (33x11 Cooper Zeon LTZ)
- A leveling setup that wasn't going to ruin the ride. (Bilstein 5100 series ride height adjustable struts with matching rear shocks) The struts were set at 2"
- A clean, simple exhaust system that wouldn't effect my in cabin conversations but still delivered some bark to go along with the appearance. (Magnaflow SI/SO with 4" rolled tip)
- A black billet grill to fill the gigantic hole in the front bumper
- Removal of the orange factory mirror reflectors, dealership and flex fuel emblems
- and a few other odds and ends including: modification of the aftermarket center cap, smoked license plate cover w/ stainless hardware, and a stubby antenna.
TOTAL COST OF UPGRADES: Approx. $2,100 with all labor performed by me.
With minimal money spent the truck now handles, looks and sounds much better than it did in stock form. I am more than satisfied with the outcome.
Please excuse the lack/quality of pics. I was being very lazy today as it was my day off.
