My Dad has been having some health issues and we found out that sometime in the last 6 months or so he has had a Major Silent Heart Attack and he has to have Angio Plasti (sp?) Surgery tomorrow in the a.m. to straighten out the clogs and bad arteries to his heart. The doctors tell us it's not really a big deal but like all surgeries there are complication's. I'm kinda worried about the Old Guy he's 74 and don't always listen to what the doc's tell him. I know I am going to have my hands full he is an avid hunter and I know no matter what the Doc's tell him he will want to go deer hunting. I usually don't air personal problems on line but this is something I had to get off my chest.
Thanks for listening

Thanks
they say that after surgery he should be back on his feet in a few days and feeling much better. He has not been himself for a while and it had us worried, hopefully all goes well.

I bet he will be, the surgery is minimally invasive and the people ive known that had it done feel SO much better. they feel like they have so much more energy than they had before

im sorry to hear and glad to hear this at the same time jt. your dad is a nice man. and im sorry to hear he's been sick. on the other hand it will correct his illness and he will feel a ton better. that im glad to hear.

He'll be Okay. If he only needs Angio Plasti it's not super serious as far as heart attacks go. Pretty common now a day its not even open heart surgery anymore just a small incision.

Don't get me wrong heart attacks are always a big deal but I think my father has had angio done at least 4 times... A bypass a double bypass and he's runnin a thing in his chest that shocks his heart if it stops beating like his own miniature defibrillator.

My father also still hunts not as active as he wants to be but he still goes out at least once a year with my brother.

Best of luck to him. He'll pull through. They monitor the crap out of the human body during heart surgery. He will be in good hands. Any problems they will back out.

Prayers sent.

My dad had it done. The main thing is to let the artery or vein, which ever it is, in his upper thigh heal before he does anything. They go in there and up to his heart. Once that heals, he's good to go.
