Mustang T-5 Question

Did ford ever use 80W90 Gear Lube In the T-5 transmissions ? I thought It was only Atf.

Not that I know of. I've only ever heard of atf for them

Gear lube will destroy the T5. Actually, heat will destroy it, but the gear lube will cause the T5 to overheat because the viscosity is too high to properly lube the small crevices the lube needs to go. That's the principle reason ATF is used.

Something like that.

Gear oil for non World Class transmissions and ATF for Wold Class transmissions.
