mustang problem

I'll start from the start, its a 88 fox t5 efi 302. Ran fine then blew head gasket pulled motor and did head gaskets and 42 pound injectors with new pro m maf for 42s, never took timing cover off, did the spin push rod and 1 full turn of pre load on rockers, pulled wiring in car and drilled hole behind motor and ran it through, put motor back in and no start, turned out no compression on 5-8 so pulled intake off an did hafe turn of preload on 5-8 and had compression 165-175 on all, then it started but was misfire on #6, went over wiring and found #6 injector wire was messed up and was keeping the #6 injector on all times, fixed that, now it started with no misfire, test drive! And will rev somewhat with no load but put it in 1st and doesn't want to go faster than 5-10 mph if I just give it gas doesn't do anything, but if I w.o.t. and wait 10-20 secends it start to go but not like its w.o.t. just start to excelrate like 1/4 throttle, so after talking to a few people they said go back over it and the rockers should be ajusted about the same so now there all a hafe turn of preload all wiring looks good all vac lines hooked up and try to time it, it was a tooth off and at 30 degrees of timing, the only way it will start. So after trying to get it to start at 0 degrees, put it back a tooth and starts but now it doesn't want to rev.... It's wired like a 5.0 h.o. plug wires try other firing order and won't fire, i don't know what else to do...

OK inspect the balancer, they often rot and spin, and cuase the timing to be set off. Look for dry rotted rubber ring. ALso 1 full rutn is way to much, and the spin pushrod method is not good. You should do up and down movement. ALso how are you doing the order in which you set the valves? Firing order is not the right way to go there. ALso are you checking the timing with the spout out? And what is done to the car to justify 42# injectors?

I set the valves by turning the motor over by hand and watch both valves open and close then a turn from 12oclock to 5oclock then last time moved pushrod up and down untill no more movement and then hafe turn of preload on all, the order I set the valves is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,.yes spout is out, the reason for the 42's is a little turbo

Did you check deck/head surfaces after the gasket went? You sure something isn't wrong with th e heads?

In a quick re-read i see you added the 42's after the gasket blew? What injector was in it befor? You sure you didn't hurt hte motor on a lean out under boost?

Yes heads got decked by a place 13& utica area, they said they weren't bad but sense I was gona feed it some boost it would be a good idea, no boost last summer just na with 24 pound injectors.

Have you had it tuned since putting it back togethor? Done a compression test on all 8?

No tune yet but I went and talked to lidio and he said that the car should be fine to drive and he don't think it has to do with the tune, he tuned it last summer, I did a compression test on all 8 165-175, but haven't sense I went back over the rockers with a hafe turn of preload
