Got a 5.0 long block from a 89 crown vic, i put a gt40 intake with 19lb injectors. With the cam being a non h.o cam would the 89 a9l computer work to run the motor or do i need to get a comp from a crown vic? Thanks in advance

I believe the firing order is different, so you would need to change that.
Also, if firing order is off, then fueling won't necessarily be sequential, no that it makes much of a diff for the purpose.

Ok thanks. The motor was a complete pullout from the crown vic...intake to oil pan. Only changes are gt40 intake and 19lb injectors instead of 14lb ones. But i still have the original injectors if i need to switch them back.

That is a good point about the injectors. The Mustang engines have 19's stock, if yours are 14's, and the original EEC is set for 14's, then the fueling will be a little off...Should still run, but rich.

Ive got 19 and 14lb injectors at my disposal so i can switch if needed. Heres one more question ive got, im getting a crown vic comp tomorrow, do you know if by using the mustang harness will that affect anything. Would the vic comp have different pinouts then the mustang? I dont have access to wiring diagrams at the moment. Kinda stuck on a machine gun range today

If your car is mass air it should run just fine. According to wiki the firing order is the same. The A9L with mass air will actually run pretty decent you just need a mass air meter for 19 lb injectors IE a stock one. The cam won't make a shit with mass air. My old 91 Vert ran great with an aftermarket cam and 30 lb injectors never got it tuned till I put nitrous on it. I wouldnt bother with a crown vic pc.

i just went ahead and got an ho cam and a9m computer today, got the cam switched out and putting back together now. at least now i know for sure its gonna work with what i have. thanks guys for your help,
