Those are really American Acoustics Labs, hence the AAL ;). AAL used to be the house brand of World Radio, who operated many stores from the late 60s to the late 70s throughout the Midwest. When World Radio closed down, MTX bought the factory, but kept the same "chain store brand" design used by World Radio for a good 20 years or so. The only real change from the World Radio design was going from a cone tweeter to a piezo tweeter...other than that, theres not much difference between them. They dont go very low for 12" woofers, but then again, the cabinet is only 1.8^3 ft internal volume, about the size of a modern 2-way bookshelf speaker with an 8" woofer.

50hz isn't very low but they are clear and decently crisp for the price I paid. I had speakeers that went to 33 and there really isn't much missing in most music. And they will rock the house. I never really put power to them and was still impressed with them...again knowing what price they sold at. Will they compete with a modern powered sub or mid level 8"...not really. They're old school, well built, loud clean speakers that will still piss off the neighbors, and rattle shit off the shelves and walls. These things blast music well...not movies.

Minimum Price Information:
All threads must include a Price or a Price/Best offer listing for each item sold in the post. This should help increase the traffic for the seller and avoid wasting the buyer's time to find out what the price is.

Just sayin'. A price will help sell them (plus it's the rules).

I know. Was just looking for offers as im well aware these speakers are dated. Hard for me to asses a value to them, but to someone looking for them may have a price in mind.

I have an offer for 150 for the speakers and componant system as of now.. so deal pending...

If I had know you would go that low, I would have made an offer last week

let me know if it falls through I want it all

Nothing wrong with them being dated, thats when speakers were good. Most companies forgot how to make a nice speaker these days. I run 50 year old Electro Voices, and to put it mildly, I havent been wowed with more modern (and much more pricier) offerings found in the local hifi shops.

This is what makes me nervous about selling them...lolbut I don't wanna store them and take a chance ruining a good speaker someone else could use.

As long as theyre stored in decent conditions, theyll be fine. Aside from the cabinets, everything else is easily serviceable :). My Electro Voices sat up in a non-climate controlled garage for 20 years before I bought them. They went through all of those harsh winters and hot humid summers, and they still work great...as well as look new.

Damn...I will have a storage unit for a year or so. Just didn't want to take the chance. Plus I could use a little extra money. Nice set up.

i dont make offers without a starting price

I understand, but like i staed befor, being a dated piece it's only worth something to someone looking for them. Plus i didn't have a clue what to ask. Guy is supposed to come pick this up tonight. I'll let you know if the deal falls through.

when he appears let him know I have the matching powered sub that goes with these
