Moving back to the Dirty Mitten...

COOKIE MONSTER

After an exciting 12 years with the Marine Corps and DoD, I'm finally coming back home to Michigan for good. Few of you may know, but my Wife (Lucy), has been working hard for the last 6 years to get her MD in the US. She's taken all the USMLE Step Exams and passed them with great scores, and she's finally, after a year of trying, she got Residency at DMC for 4 years (Neurology). She's been working fellowships and internships at the VA hospital in Detroit and Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital over the years, and now she's finally getting her 4 years at DMC. Much of that time she's spent in MI while I was either deployed or working in NC. So, this is a blessing for her and our Family, to be reunited. I'm going to be moving back up to MI at the end of May. I'm cutting my deployment here in Afghanistan a bit early to back in time to relax, start moving, and of course say my goodbyes to my awesome friends down at Camp Lejuene/Jacksonville area. We already have a condo in Rochester Hills which is where we'll be staying until I find our house. I'll be either finding a job at Selfridge AFB or going back to school to finish my Degree while I still have my GI Bill. :) I'll be asking you guys lots of questions on getting hooked up with a MI CPL (I want to continue to carry), finding a solid race shop to help me with fixing my Trans Am, and also you guys will need to give me directions on how to find your MM monthly meets! :) Looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones again!

Ha ha, sounds like a plan matt, you buy the beer then?

Awesome. What area are you looking to move too?

Well, we've had a condo in Rochester at Avon and Rochester rd (Behind the Home Depot), for a while now, and it's paid for finally. As I said, my wife has already been living there, so I'm just moving back home there for while until we buy our long term home aka something with a 3 car garage.
