Moving a drivers front seat back a few inches.

Hey guys. Question for you. A buddy of mine picked up a new SUV and brought it by my house a little bit ago. He’s 6.5 and the front seats just don’t seem to go back far enough in regards to the ass part of the seat. Being 6.2 it seemed tight for me as well. The seat is obviously Bolted to the floor board with four different bolts. His question is, is there anybody or anywhere that he can take it that remove
The seat, make new holes for the stud and move the seat frame back about 3 or 4 inches?

Thanks Guys

Wheelchair/mobility places used to mod the ram seats for people that complained about them being to high

It’s a 2018 Nissan Armada. Same truck as a infinity qx80.

I looked at the seat where it’s mounted. It looks pretty simple in regards to how they are mounted.

May not be a good idea, It could possibly put air bags in the wrong position during deployment or seat belts could be in a position to do harm in a roll over.

True, but then again, the systems weren't engineered for a 6'5" person.

If it were me, I'd move the seat back a few inches & I'm all about safety.

I might think slotting the holes in the seat bracket an inch or so will allow you to slide the seat back. I dont know how much material is there though to do this.

I’m all about safety as well, but moving the seat back a few inches won’t affect safety in my opinion. For example, someone that is 6.5 would have the butt part of the seat pushed all the way back, but for somebody that’s 5 foot tall they would have the seat almost as far forward as it would go. Therefore, placing them in total opposite positions of where the airbags are located. With that, I would think that moving the seat back another few inches is not going to be an issue.

current count for safety recalls on that Armada? ...ZERO. Im 6'1" and my 2017 Ram feels tight.

He has a 2016 Denali, couldn’t get rid of the shake at speeds over 70. Traded it on a 18 Escalade. Had same issues, GM bought it back. He has had bad luck with so he went to nissan. To each their own.

My Equinox drivers seat can actually move back too far for my 6'3" frame. Not that that helps any until he buys a new vehicle.
