Motocross/Off-road riding apparel: Who has the best boot selection?

I need some new riding boots and was wondering who might have the best selection around Metro-Detroit. I don't mind ordering goggles, gloves, etc on line but boots fit so differently from one manufacturer to another, you almost have to try them on and see what feels good.

I'm looking at Alpinestars Tech 3 Off-road, Fox Comp 5 Off-road and a few others. I don't want another cheap POS pair but I also don't want to drop $500 either.

Thanks for any suggestions.

best selection, as much as i hate to say it, will probably be at magic racing in waterford (dixie highway and telegraph rd.). teagan (the owner) is a cock but he's got the most stuff and the best deals.

If you know what sizes you are, there's a couple good online stores to buy from. If you need to try stuff on, then you're stuck with only the few local stores and their limited selections.

I've always heard they have a lot of stuff but have never been there. Isn't there a Magic's in Shelby Twp now also? Or did they move?

Have you checked out Motoman? Last time I was in there they had a real good selection.

Funny you should say that! I live very close to them but haven't been in there in a long time and when I was I wasn't looking for boots. I will try them out though.
Thanks

I used to get all my Quad parts there and they seemed to have everything I wanted in stock. Better than driving to the East Side or Waterford for gear.

i liked mine, but they took forever to break in. and they are close to $500 too...

true, but if they last 4-5 years, like mine, then they're worth the $$$. my son has a pair of gaerne sg10's, i believe. they fit very well, and are practically broke in out of the box. agreed that neither are cheap, but being comfortable and safe are pretty important on a dirt-bike.
