More about the 8.8

I bought a set of tubular upper control arms used and they don't fit right. The problem i am having is where the control arm bolts to the body. It seems the polyurethane bushing is to narrow, i have about 1/8-1/4IN clearance between the bushing and the mount bracket. I don't know the brand control arm but it is powder coated red and looks just like the summit brand or Blue Oval Industries upper control arm. Do i need a specific thickness washer between the bushing and the mount or are the mount brackets from 85-86 different from 87-93?

This is what they look like.

no washer should be there, shouldn't have that much clearance either.

Sounds like your torque boxes are blown out. There are no differences from 79-04.

yeah thats what i am thinking. but the stock control arms fit very well so it is hard to say. I guess this is the joy of buying used parts.
