My wife didn't seem too sure at first, but the first thing she asked after she went with me to the track the first time was "so what else can you buy to make it faster?"

lmao my wife says the same thing...shes been to 160 in my GTA..i told her "hunny thats as fast as itll go"

I got a ton of shit from my Dad when I C-notched my Sonoma for my airbags. Then after I was done and he seen what an airbagged truck actually did he was like "wow, that's pretty cool"

i started getting shit when i put the headers on... then when they saw the bottle... saturday my big cam is going in and im sure i will get alot more shit to come.

i used to get shit for spending money on my car. but they have stopped. i now have about $2600 invested into my taurus. the bulk of it was rim/tire, suspension, tint, and alarm. big money items. the rest are lil things here and there.

big money wheels? with suspension and all the other stuff, dude big money rims for for at least 800 a piece and are usually 3 piece wheels.

I get a little here and there. I get a hell of a lot more for talking about cars too much though. :) I'm starting to see their point though. I don't think I've had a day in the past couple of years where I haven't talked about cars, the a$$hole$ on the road, racing, performance upgrades, who's got what on sale, etc. For someone who's not into cars, I can kind of understand how that gets old quick.

i have trouble getting dates because of that. i can't talk about anything other than cars. i know NOTHING else.

ha that and i get the "just get it to where you can drive it" from my dad. its like "FUCK THAT!" if im tearing something apart why not take the time now to put a performance part in instead of wasting time later doing all over again the way i want it. :dontknow:

My dad always gives me shit, but he has no idea the money I make so its really none of his business to be honest. Im 28, married, house, kid( one more on the way) and I have never EVER asked for a dime my entire life and been playing with cars since I was 16.

My inlaws see the car and like it, my mother in law loves to ride in it and my mom always asks me about it. I dont really bring it up though.

Also, my wife is super cool about it, and I think my brother in laws are kinda jealous about that. She doesnt care whenever I work on it or when I race it, just says, go have a good time and try not to cost us anymore money!

I have the opposite issue. I was happy with the slow ride. I've done my modding on previous rides. Just helped dad complete his 383 stroker in his C4, just behind the BB 502 in his other C4. Also building a Pro Stock Beretta Tube Frame car...(Already has two BB Chevy's built for it) I come over to give him a hand and he hands me a pair of ported and polished LS1 heads for my car, milled, new valve job, seals, the works. I come over the next time and he gives me a ported TB and his G-Tech Pro, then tells me to get some numbers before and after. Next time he gives me a dual snorkel intake and an LS6 manifold. He wants me to run his 383 until I beat him, then he wants to make his car faster. (and so on and so on.....

I guess life could be harder!
