Might need help... truck/trailer/roadtrip[emoji112][emoji112]

I’m looking at buying a truck just outside of the Chicago area. It is a fairly rare truck with options that I want and the price is more than right. However, it cannot be driven right now due to a problem with a brake caliper.

I have considered having it shipped, but am extremely nervous about buying a 20 year old truck, sight unseen.

It’s 300 miles each way. I would be willing to pay for gas, food and a reasonable per mile charge for anybody who can help out?

Note: this is pending a few things including a CarFax, and few other things from the seller.

I would be looking to do this on a Thursday (leave 9am) or a Fri/Sat/Sun (leave earlier if possible).

PM me if you can help.

Thanks

Note: it’s a Landcruiser, so need a trailer that can handle a 7000lb truck

Mike, I don't know if this might help or not.

My good friend Jack Wagner owns & runs a
professional vehicle transportation company
and its based out of Ann Arbor.

He might be an option for you.

^^^ LOL, this Jack is a really nice guy who is a senior engineer
who has also ran several successful businesses. He developed
this one to employ some of his family, so this is indeed a true
"family business".

If only in Chicago, go take a look at it first before buying. I've heard/seen many who buy unseen and find out when they do see its a big pile....

This is a possibility. Go check it out in person, make the deal if it checks out, then arrange shipping. LOL, never crossed my mind.

I think it has driveline issues and they don't want you driving it until it's paid and long gone. Hope not!

They told me that they stripped out a brake caliper bolt and it cannot be mounted. I am not as familiar with the 100 series as I am with my old 80... but it may require disassembly of the hub

FWIW... I found one down in Ohio and brought it back up a few days ago. Thanks for the offers to help.
