I've been around awhile, mostly lurking. I'm a pretty active Xceed member (ducks to avoid thrown objects), but I actually have never owned an import.
Anyways, it appears I need to up my post count so I can ask for information on items for sale, so I figured I might as well share some pictures of my cars.
I'm not a die-hard Moparite by any means. Or a die-hard anything. I love all sorts of cars, these godforsaken rolling tanks just seem to gravitate to me. I tend to like cars I don't see frequently too, and these all kind of fit that theme.
I tend to cruise in this a lot... because it's the only one that's actually driveable. And I use "driveable" loosely, there. My 1970 Chrysler 300-
^ Tried on the Cragars once. They're unilug 15x10s, and I don't have the lug hardware, or front wheels, or even decent tires. Likely going to sell these in the future, rocking 15x7 cop steelies all the way around very soon, I finally got the last one.
It's not really modded. Stock, blown-out '71 440 (original 350 HP 440 was pirated for a '71 Roadrunner, this was the road runner's original engine that wasn't nearly in as good of shape), rebuilt 727 (I did it a few years ago, the trans lost 1st and reverse, previous owner rebuilt this one from a '73 383 2bbl something, and they threw in one too many clutch plates and it smoked itself to pieces) w/ a Mr. Shift Shift kit and it still won't stop leaking, someone many moons ago put duals on it and a just-a-tiny-bit-better-than-stock Weiand intake manifold on it. I converted it from points to Electronic Ignition about a year ago, runs sooooooo much better (not saying much though). Stock Carter AVS carb on it (I forget if it's an AVS or AFB), and that's pretty much fucked, but with no money and no knowledge of carbs, it's staying that way. I have a set of headers, but I'm afraid to use them, lol. Wiring is all butchered underhood and fried everywhere else. Plenty of rust, too. Ugh. But I love it, and I'll clutch to it until I can restore it.
Much like this heap of p00p, my first car, my 1968 Chrysler Town & country-
Sadly, this is the only picture I have online currently. I could go on forever about this, but basically it went from a 440 car to a 360 car years ago, it was never off the road more than a few weeks from 1968 to 2002, and it's got well over a million miles on the shell. This is my child- I will resurrect it somehow, someday.
And the reason I joined and am looking for parts, my 1978 Impala 2-door. 60,000 miles, one previous owner, and it sat since 1995 in a driveway, sadly. I'm hoping to get it back on the road, and either use it as my daily (if I can afford the fuel), or sell it and buy something smaller/more fuel efficient (being a college kid with three broken tanks and trying to find a job is no fun). I really do like it, and it just kind of fell into my lap last year. I'd always had a secret love for the 3-piece rear window cars, didn't expect to get one.
I'm looking for suspension stuff really- i.e. stiffer springs, shocks, front sway bar, etc. Probably a decent/cheap set of wheels and tires (well, at least some tires). So if you have any cheap used GM metric chassis suspension goodies, give a holler! Please!
And BIG thanks to Beertstr Mike on here, he's been a HUGE load of help and a massive wealth of info. Can't thank him enough. :specool:
I also tend to drive a borrowed V6 Econoline most of the time since nothing but the 300 runs/drives, and I can't afford to fuel it all the time. I've grown to love the E-van, and I've wanted my own '70s Econoline or Dodge panel van for awhile, but that's a dream that'll have to wait until I have a bagillion dollars and somewhere I can actually store cars that isn't outdoors.
And there we go, flame away.
