For those who have considered MetroPCS and passed on it due to limitations on travel, I introduce to you, unlimited Nationwide Coverage!

Just a run down on MetroPCS for those who don't know...

You get unlimited calling, unlimited text, and internet with the $45 plan. $50 bumps up to unlimited email as well.

There are no contracts or credit checks with Metro, you simply purchase your phone outright. With the purchase of a new phone, Metro gives you your first month of service free and waives the activation fee.

You pay one month in advance, but since your first month is free, you don't pay a bill for a month.

No other carriers can touch this company.

For a limited time right now, MetroPCS is running a 4-line family plan for $100.

Do you have an update coverage map? can you port phone numbers? what phones are available?

Coverage maps have not been released yet as this news was just announced today. Metro is now covering Flint, Lansing and Grand Rapids here in MI. Pretty much all of MI will be covered by the end of the year.

As far as phones that are available, there are about 9 models out right now that will actually operate on this new network.

I'll post them up in a bit.

So if you go outside of the coverage area do you not get service at all?

No. If you go outside of the coverage area, you can put money in your metro connect account and pay the roaming fees. ($.49 - $.79 / minute).

I think my sprint contract is up this month hmmmm perfect timing

so im assuming they joined up with cricket?

Negative. They have been buying out networks over the past year and are finally getting it all launched.

i wonder how is metro stock looking? they are doing big things.

Haven't paid attention to it, but for being a local provider who is rated as the #6 wireless provider in the country (last time I checked) they've got to be doing awesome.

They're putting all the little guys out of business and forcing the big companies to actually compete. This is just the beginning for them. I hope they end up with coverage across the country soon, it would be nice to see everyone get unlimited everything for $50. No one comes close to touching that price right now.

I have metro pcs and am very happy with it besides not getting coverage in certain areas but im happy to hear they are expanding their coverage:)

And... a new map!

It doesn't look like a ton... but this is a pretty good start for this little local company.
