I have lots of friends in the army/ROTC/marines. Some stationed in Iraq, a few soon to be maybe... Rough place out there. One of my friends got lucky and got stationed in Germany. He goes to the bar everynight... lol. I tried to join ROTC, but got turned down for diabetes.

This was a video posted on another site I frequent... Somethings that people don't know about.

Our veterans serve us as in war, we need to serve them as a country.
 
Just saw a deal on NBC Nightly News about the VA.

A Federal Judge just nailed them for their "abysmal" performance in supporting veterans through existing programs. I'm paraphrasing here, but it's something like "The VA is violating the constutional rights of the Veterans they are supposed to be serving."

With any luck, things will get better. Do we want to: Study some obscure animal or plant species? Keep sending money to groups overseas that live cheek-by-jowl with the terrorists sworn to kill us? Watch our government continue to waste money at a staggering rate? Or fund the VA to take care of those who sacrifice themselves (AND their families!!) to keep us safe?

I'm a Vet. I served at the end of our Second-Place finish at the Southeast Asian conflict of the 60's and 70's. (Vietnam if you have to ask)
I have the e-mail addresses of all of my representatives at the Federal level.
Been sending them e-mails for years now. They KNOW how I feel about this question.

Let 'em know how YOU feel!!

Right on bro. I am so mad about the way our gov't does things and yes i do vote!!! I have always felt that taking care of our vets should really be a top priority. Our govt wastes billions on things I bet 90% of our citizens disagree with. Those that have served our country desreve better treatment. Thank you for your service.
 
It just shows how fucked up our government is. I belong to a Veterans MC, we do charity work for homeless Vets. The people that run the Vet Center are all volunteers, all money and items are donated. The Government doesn't give them a dime! That pisses me off to no end! But they'll keep sending billions to other countrys for no "good" reason. It's really sad the way we take care of our Vets.
 
Thanks to all who serve! I have cousins and friends who have all been overseas. One cousing served 5 tours and is finally stationed stateside training troops going on tour. Your courage and committment is very appreciated! :gr_patrio We had flags all over our BBQ yesterday to honor those who have served and who are serving.
