The rules haven't been set in stone, but I've gotten a few PM's about this program. If you are interested in getting a new Ford-Mecury-Lincoln product using this program shoot me a PM. In the PM let me know the Year, Make and Model of your "clunker" and what vehicle you are interested in.

Thanks!

*A few things to keep in mind*

1. If you have a clunker KEEP the insurance and plate current! According to everything we have, it MUST be insured and plated for one year.

2. If it's on it's last leg, park it until the program starts. They say the car MUST be running. They didn't say it had to run well or forever, so if she is gonna give up the ghost try and prolong it.

3. Find your current reg, insurance and title. This is the government, so they will be looking for any out they can find.

4. Ford is the car company of the future and I'm a great guy to deal with :D

Glad to hear you're working with the program! Just don't scrap anything cool or we'll have to send the MM militia :blaster:

Trust me if there is a way to keep the "cool" shit, I will. There might be some interior, fender 1/4 less cars rolling into the scrap yard

Can't wait! Keep me posted on when its all ready!

I will post up any new info and shoot you a PM when we know more.

I'm going to watch for updates. I'd trade in our Expedition for a Fusion.

Any prediction if I'd have problems trading in a convertible Expedition?

OK folks that are interested. We are starting to put cars on hold for this program. Since this program only has a certain amount of money, getting our ducks in a row before the program starts will be best.

According to everything we are hearing, when the money is gone, it's gone. There are no do overs or rain checks. If you want ensure you're going to get in on the program take the steps below.

How to get your ducks in a row:

1. Pick out a car. I can hold the car until the end of the month when the program kicks off. You can PM me a list of the needs and wants. I will find you the vehicle you want.

2. Get your credit approved prior to the program starting. This is one less step in the way. Being pre-approved doesn't not bind you to purchasing, it just makes things smoother.

3. Get your title, proof of insurance and registration. Make copies so you have proof.

4. If you are going to purchase it on an employee discount plan, get your PIN.

5. Talk to your insurance company. If you need a VIN to check rates, shoot me a PM

6. Get any extra cash you might use towards the purchase in order.

hey matt any idea when this program will be kicking off? i talked to you through PM, and i have to wait till august, but i already have my ducks in a row including the financing. let me know, i hope it doesn't all get spent before i can get a car.

how do you find the epa rating for a chrysler new yorker 3.0 v6? lol i looked just cant find anything concrete. It gets waay worse mileage then a '10 mustang gt with stick/trak pack, riiiight? lol

My understanding is that Stangs are not eligible because they get less than 22 mpg (epa rating)??

Yes

According to all the reports there will be enough money for about 250,000 deals. 250,000(deals)/50(states)=5000 per state. We do an average of 300 a month. If a 1/4 of those sales are from C.F.C, that's only 66 dealers to take up the 5000.

Granted the 5000 isn't a set number for each state. I'm just using for easy numbers. So what I'm saying is this program really is going to be a first come first serve type thing.

Question, my car will be registered and insured for a full year in Octoberish. I have just renewed the plates again, do I qualify or do I have to wait until October or whenever I bought the car?

From eveything I've seen you have to have insured and registered for a year.
