I'm looking for a good machine shop near the west side of Livonia that can do some head repair. Anybody have any suggestions, or know of any shops in the area (i.e. Livonia/Westland/Canton/Plymouth) you've had good experience with?

What kinda head repair? Anything performance i would not recommend them, But you broke a belt on your escort, slam dunk.

I know this doesn't answer your question correctly, but I've always had my gm heads done at ray's precision in Taylor.

post a pic. I machine cylinder heads for a living and could possibly fix it but am on the other side of town. almost anything can be repaired just comes down to what you want to spend and what it cost to replace

here are the pictures I have:

does this even look like it can be repaired?

That can be fixed. Mine broke a valve then smashed it into the combustion chamber. I had to use a slide hammer to get it out and it was able to be repaired.

That appears to be cracked between the valves, I'd have that pressure checked first. Also I wouldn't be to worried about the nicks. None of them hit the sealing ring. They can be ground down to smooth the out but they won't affect the sealing.

Business name and number is listed all over with a quick Google search. Definitely a good option if he's still doing it but I could have sworn I heard he stopped a while back. :dunno:

Maybe give Holbrook a call?
Wayne is still doing heads out of his garage, I will get his number this afternoon.

I don't think there's a crack between the valves, where are you seeing that?

the problem I was having was coolant in the oil, it was leaking right here:

There's usually a reason the seat came out. If there's a crack and it expanded that's why the seat fell out.
