The Polytech M-14S is almost identical to the Springfield Armory M1A, with a few minor differences. Anyone that takes 5 minutes to research the gun will run across this stuff anyway, so I'll cover it here to save you the trouble.

The receiver is forged instead of cast. In the past many custom M1A builds were deliberately built off the Polytech receivers because they are forged the same way as the original M-14 rifles, and not the weaker castings from SA.

The wood used for the stock is not quite as nice as the Springfield M1As. It looks decent, but certainly not show quality, lol. A stock replacement with an M1A stock is easy and cheap if someone wants a really pretty stock. Or there is a bunch of different EBR-type stock systems on the market too. I had no issues with the existing stock.

There are reports of soft bolts in some of the very early Polytech guns. This is not an issue on this rifle. The previous owner has shot this gun for many years and there are no signs of undue wear at all. The bolt in there is unlikely to ever need replacing unless someone shoots it enough to wear out the barrel too.

I bought this rifle from a friend who has had it for many years after finding out another .308 rifle I ordered was going to be years out before delivery. This has changed recently and I will be getting the other rifle sooner, so I'm going to sell the M-14S to free up the $$ and space in the safe.

I have not had the opportunity to shoot this rifle yet (if I do get a chance, I'm very likely to keep it, lol) but my friend that owned this rifle for years stated that it easily shoots 2 moa with mediocre surplus ball ammo. He hasn't shot it with good match ammo but it should shoot at least 1 moa with the good ammo.

I am asking $1450 for the package, with partial trades considered. Ammo (5.56 and 9mm primarily) and good glass (Aimpoint, trijicon, vortex, or nicer)being the most preferred options. I'm looking for a decent, but small snowblower too, fwiw. email is rarasvt (at) gmail dot com or you can PM me here as well.

For some reason the image attachments aren't working right now, I will add them later, or I can email high res pics of whatever details you wish to see for serious buyers.
