IF it came from a TBSS its a 4L70E anyways, not an 80, pretty much just a mildly upgraded 4L60E.

I dont believe a 4l70e will work in an f-body, he may have a 2500hd trans in it, which is the 4l80e, thats supposedly the "indestructible" 4 speed.
