LS1 questions

Im am putting a carbed ls1 in my 89 camaro,i have a t-5 in it and i would like to keep it that way,will a 5.0 tuned port flywheel work on a ls1 crank?what starter would i need to run?and last does anyone know where to get the timing conversion kit for a ls1.any help wouls be great and thanks in advance. Jeremy
 
u can buy the distributor conversion from summit i think its around 450$ or so


i just found the conversion kit on summit also,they have everyting i need there,the t-5 i have is being built at my friends trans shop,i would love to go with a t56 but finding one reasonable seems to be a little hard and expensive,im on somewhat of a budget on this car already with the cam and conversion parts and all the other stuff ive bought for it and the price of the ls1.Just trying to keep it reasonable for my pocket.
 
nah, I'm sure they make one for it, same flywheel for any older manual trans's

I haven't seen any muncie to ls1 flywheels. Not saying they aren't around. I just haven't seen them. Can't say as I have looked either. Not many guys want to put old manuals behind newer engines.

the plan of attack I offered would work however.
 
quicktime makes bells for ls >Richmond, Saginaw, Muncie, Bert, Brinn, Chevy TKO 500-600 , mustang t5 transmissions
 
mcleod and other will give you any spline you want
quicktime shows which flywheel. looks to be all stock stuff
