LS1 powerd RX7 video

Yeah those things are pretty light and scream with the engine conversion. Sounds like he is trying to powershift and not take his foot off the gas. You can hear the higher revs between shifts.

I am not sure if some of those guys are using upgraded rearends. I assume they are, but you can find our for sure in the conversion forum at LS1tech. There's a bunch of the LSx RX7's around.

thats with i believe a 2gen turbo2 rearend swap, you can also use a kazz unit but with slicks most cant get past mid 10s hinsons in the mid 8s on a 4link solid axle set-up (sort of like mine) with a 33 tire.

the 2nd gen turbo rear ends are amazingly stout, i've probably had wheel hop in mine a few hundred times and only ripped a rubber mount. the 3rd gen ones arent as strong.

That video shows why I dont like independent rear ends! Look at how much the back end drops down on launch and shifts.

I'm sure you could fix that with the right spring etc., but i usually see this with independent rears.

what i meant was when he bliped the throttle when he shifted..

i think he kept it to the floor.

the suspension in rx7s is awesome, even for drag racing, i was able to cut high 1.80s with mine on a unprepped track, with shitty 225/40 tires lowering springs and hard shocks. i think people have those cars down in the 1.40s with just bushings, shocks, and slicks. imagine with an auto what it would be, they transfer a lot of weight,
