LS1/LS2 Gods inside...

Looking for some insight on my new project. What would be the best streetable thing to do, I like to drive my car to and from work mostly and do a little cruising around town with some freeway action as well. I have not yet decided on keeping my trans (stahled A-4) or going with a 6 speed, I currently have a nice set of heads, intake, cam that I plan on using or selling to fund my project.

A) build a big inch motor with some spray

B) Stock stroke & bore, with nice heads, intake, cam, spray

C) Stock stroke & bore with beefed up internals, Procharger F-2 or smaller

D) Same as C but turbo

Now I know everyone is gonna say Turbo but I'm trying to keep this car a little bit on the "sane" side, not looking for 700hp.The car is gonna weigh in at around 2900-3000lbs(Fox body coupe) and please keep in mind-I'm not a street racer, I barely go to the track and I like to enjoy the freeway!!The car is going to have full power, interior etc

H/C/I and spray, smack it w/ about 100-150 (if it's in good shape) no need to dump a ton of coin if you already have most of what you need...

what heads :secret:

That's what I was thinking, I'm gonna upgrade the rotating assembly but for the most part it will be stock cubes. Out the box TFS LS2's, cam is a cookie cutter F-14 that I will most likely get rid of

I have tried just about every type of induction ion the ls1. For the simplicity, nothing beats going NA. I spent under $6000 on my entire long block. Just the forced incution kit is going to cost you that, then you will have to build the motor to handle it. Stick with the LS1's strengths - great flowing heads and NA reliability on quality stock parts.

 that's the direction I was originally leaning towards, I just wanted to feel out the situation and see what other members would consider. My only complaint about my Camaro is my exhaust, true duals @ WOT sounds like a freight train coming through and it gets a little annoying after awhile

LMAO!! How did I know you were gonna say that :shake: that, it's tempting but I have a fear of Dyno Tuning
im na.. but if i could of afforded the boost... i would of.. but na makes some nice power but if u want freeways pulls boost is where its at.

For a nice daily driver. H/C/I and some spray with a 6-speed. My M6 camd/bolt on/nitrous car was great for cruising around in.

ls2 with some boost. can get 20+mpg and make alot of power, plus with boost its always there no pissin around with fillin nitrous bottles and all that nonsense.

i say get a 370 stroker for cheap, good heads, cam, etc, then throw a 150shot on it. then later on if you think its not enough go FI.

Maybe pm spuerman09 on here he's got a TT LSX that made alot of wheel power, in a full weight 4th gen with power everything and still retains A/C and Cruise control, definitly the definition of a high power "street car"

Well I'm obviously a fan of the turbo's. Bone stock LS1, just upgraded fuel system, valve springs & pushrods. Drives like a normal car and pulls like a freight train when you lean into it. And Dr. Phil is the man when it comes to boosted LSx motors too. No issues with my tune at all. Idles great with the 60lb injectors.

LS motors respond well to mods in general so you are good whichever way you go. It all depends on your ultimate goals and budget.
