LS1 help! well actually L33 help.

I have a aluminum black 5.3l out of a vortec max truck. Its brand new and never been fired so all the parts are new, but I have some questions. Basic stats of the car 3150 pounds, 6 speed and a 3.91 gear.

Does it have an ls2 style timing chain and oil pump? I have read that the newe LSx parts are better then old LS1 parts as far as internal stuff goes. I can take some pictures if someone would like.

Will I be able to put any oil pan, windage and pick up tube on it? I just need a lowish profile one for my application.

Will my 243 LS6 heads bolt up to it just fine? I know that heads have fitment issues once you get to the 4" bore stuff.

I have LS7 heads and intake, Is this stuff kinda worthless since it only fits a cirtain amount of stuff?

I plan to hit this with a small shot, what about upgrading to a katech rod bolt?

This will be a small cam LS1/LS6 intake car should I step up to a better lifter, or is the stock LS1 lifter fine?

When would I have to upgrade to a better rocker? and with a small cam if pretty much and stock pushrod ok?

Ive been on LS1tech but everytime I try to get some info, I get a little more confused.

Is this going in a camaro ? Also what PCM and harness are you planning to use with the engine ? Makes a hure difference becuase there are sevral types of cam and crank patterns out there now.

5.3 has a smaller bore then ls1/ls6. IIRC the 243 will physically bolt up "as will all the gen III gen IV head" but clearance for the intake valve to bore will require checking. IIRC it clear by just a tiny amount.

LS7 heads will not fit. they will bolt on the engie but the intake valve will not clear the small bore.

I will be using a camaro harness and ecu, im aware that ill need to convert the reluctor wheel signal and extend the knock sensors pig tails..

I do have a concern about the head fitting properly, mostly because the piston is flat with no reliefs.

the ls7 stuff I picked up to resell, but I didn't know the value. I know that most current heads need a 4" bore.
 
everything is interchangable, ls7 heads need a bigger bore then what you have,

oil pump interchangable
, oil pan, pick up tube all have to match up whatever oilpan you use
