my vette had a toasted clutch for a while now and been parked for a while. got alot of work coming up and going to buy a clutch soon. i was thinking of replacing what i have the textrilia oz700 i liked it alot and it lasted a long time.. but i seen these monster clutches now im thinking of maybe going that way as its a lil bit cheaper and its not like im going to "race" the car anymore..

anyone know anything on these monster clutches?

Hey Steve if you decide to go with a gm performance clutch I can get you a better price than the dealer. My wife works at a gm dealer and gets most parts near cost.

long time man, i was thinking going with an ls7 clutch but if i do ever wanna race the car again it cant handle the power im at on the track. so i gotta pass. i was looking for an ls7 clutch at first for money reasons.. but it seems like a better idea to spend a few hundo more and get the right stuff.

Yeah you might as well build it to hold. Need to get that beast back on the road so we can go out to Woodward.

should be up n running soon if i get the clutch next week. got a lift to do it all on. and its not really a hard job.

I'm gonna have to upgrade mine soon too. Let me know when your ready. Might be able to come by and give you a hand.

A few guys I know run monster clutches, but they are sort of low budget get what you pay for chattery units. RPS clutches are hands down the best for vettes, and the LS9x and LS9xr are also good options that drive like stock and handle decent power. I had a textralia in a previous car and it was ok, but my RPS twin carbon is 100 times better. If you don't need a clutch to hold 1.3 60's, then the LS9x clutches are the best. Stock pedal feel (since it is the stock ZR1 clutch) and holds well into the 1.5 60' range. Good luck with your decision.

I have replaced 3 RPS BC2s on N/A cars with pretty low milage. All with the same failures so for $2600 bucks and shitty service its hard to recommend any RPS product at this time.
I have a few monsters running around and so far they have held up.

Damn Phil, I haven't personally seen any failures so far at the track, this is news to me. What exactly went wrong on those? Pressure plate issue?

We have one in a 632 rwhp car with plenty of DR passes and thousands of hard street miles, and its held great. I guess not all have been so fortunate. I'm dissapointed to hear their service is shitty after you fork over almost $3 large before the hydraulics and anything else. Hope I don't encounter this, I'd be furious.

Is the chatter on the monsters as bad as the old SPEC clutches, or not nearly? I haven't seen a monster fail, I can say that about them, but I haven't driven one.

Lol why doesn't any one like spec? Mine worked great . 25k with tons of 1.4 60 @4000lbs. It finally just wore out. Unlike my 1400$ street twin that has been sent back 3 times and still wont work

I have a Spec clutch in one of my cars and have about 300 passes on it, never had one hold up better. However, if I had any fillings in my mouth they would probably be rattled out by now. The thing chatters like a mofo, seems like all of them do. But they are tough, that is not the issue.
