BERLIN TOWNSHIP — A Gibraltar man died early Thursday morning after his motorcycle crashed.

Troopers from the Monroe post of the Michigan State Police were dispatched to N. Dixie Hwy. south of Swan Creek Road at 1:30 a.m. Initial reports indicated a motorcycle went off the roadway and the operator was unconscious.

The Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 38-year-old Geoffrey Brown was heading northbound on N. Dixie Hwy. and, for unknown reasons, went off the left side of the road, according to a news release.

Mr. Brown sustained severe injuries to his head was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Scott Josephs.

I work with his brother Frank. Horrible past couple weeks for him and his family. There in my prayers tha'ts for sure.

The article said he was from Gibraltar. Did he, or his parents, live near Stoflet & Bayview? If so, we were classmates at Parsons and I was in cub scouts with his dad as scoutmaster.

Exactly where he lived when he was younger and now he moved right down by Dairy Queen and community center
 
Sad stuff, sorry to hear. Possibly a deer hit and run? All I can think of..
Hard to say what may have caused it, but very sad no matter how it happened. We had a family friend who was coming home from up north on his Harley and when going around a curve he hit loose gravel and slid into a guardrail and died. He was wearing a helmet, but I think his body took a beating from the guardrail. Sad... Rick
