looking to borrow smoke tester for possible i take leak

I might be asking a bit much here but I need to do a smoke test on my engine to rule out the possibility of an intake leak. Does anyone ha e one handy I could borrow for a couple hours? I'm in Saline and could pick it up/drop it off. Or are there any other ideas I could use? Going to try the propane gas trick as well. I just need to make absolute sure its not an I take leak before I go any further. Thanks.
 
spray around anyplace where the intake comes apart or the base where it mates the engine. also spray vacume lines if you dont find anything.
 
The only problem with brake clean is everything is highly detailed/painted and I don't want to screw that up. Its on my 71 challenger.
 
This is gonna sound soooo dumb but here it goes... could you maybe just cheat and make one out of a 20oz a vacuum line and some dry ice? Just be careful its only a little bit or dry ice. Make a hole in the lid and add a hose for accuracy? Let the flaming begin! Lol.

very clever, i never thought about this.
 
Starting fluid is what i always use. Just dont go crazy. Had to fix a crispy mess one guy did with to much starter fluid and a nice size fire on the intake.
 
Thanks for the tips guys. I'm going to try the propane first but if a smoker is available I'd still jump on it. I just need to be 100% sure before I make a call to my can guy.
