Looking into LSX

Hey guys,
I'm starting to save up for an LSX setup. I want to NA for the next 2 years or so. If you're running LSX 427ci, and your NA, what crank, rods, heads, cam etc, did you go with? And how do you like your setup?

i think vals car is an iron block 400something inch with C5r heads, more then likely some huge solid roller with i think some sort of nascar chrysler single plane that was worked over to fit...and it's carbed...drysumped and motor/mid plate car...he won the all motor LSx shootout
 
What are your goals? Daily driver/weekend warrior you can go cheap and get plenty of reliabilty with eagle, scat, etc. If you are going nuts, then step up to callies or lunati. Get some good pistons no matter what, though. I like Diamond because of the whole "support the local guy" thing, plus they make kick ass pistons.

My 403 is running Eagle crank, Scat Rods, and Diamond pistons. I have L92 heads, just because of the price, and a medium size custom cam. You pretty much get what you pay for with heads. The good aftermarket castings make a little more than ported stock.

callies dragonslayer for high HP, compstar for less Hp. lunati rods.
Ported l92's or TEA ported TFS 235 or 245cc heads,ported fast 90 and a rather mild cam will make over 550rwhp

427ci, Dragonslayer crank, Lunanti H beam, 23cc Diamond, blah blah balh.. I got the headers, fast 90/90, ls7 lifter. looking into cam, heads, pumps. How big of a money pit am I getting into?
 
Catherdral heads are not gonna make the RPM with 427ci. You would be better served at that CI to start looking at a ls7 topend. How fast are you trying to go ?

It depends how much you want to spend. My whole setup was a little over $5000. If you go for ET heads and a fast 90/90 you could get almost $5000 just in that.

I already have the Fabbed 9", LSX 90/90 I'm working on rebuilding the tranny, or just buying a Th400. And, I should have about 10,000 for the motor. I figure 6,500 for shortblock, 3,500 for cam heads, pumps. But I don't know. I'm still learning about all this shit. lol
 
Call me. I think I know what your after. However a fast 90 intake is not going to make the power you seem to be after.
