Looking for e4od ford trans

Looking for trans for my dads 96 f250 has 460 with 4 spd auto he thinks its a e4od so any input would be great if its not , anyways let me know hes lookin to buy soon , thanks rob

460 would probably be an e4od. i don't think i've ever seen a c-6 in that new of a truck. ford reman. is 1600-1700? i'd guess offhand. 36 mo., 100k warranty.

They did use a C-6 that year, but he said its a 4 sp auto, so its definitely a
E4OD. According to hollander exchange, 1996 fits 1996 only. no other year interchanges with it. Ford reman is more like 22-2400.
Any used unit you find is going to be 14 years old and well over 100K. Better off repairing/upgrading what you already have.
Whats the truck doing/not doing properly?
