Looking for an older tahoe, either late 90's or early 2000..

Looking for an older tahoe 4x4 for some light trail and getting out to the desert for shooting. Any big difference between the late 90's to early 2000's.

Found this 2000 old body style that I am checking out today. What do you experts think.

2000 and older is a vortec motor
2001 and newer is LS based

rust wont be a issue out there

the leather in them go to shit

I prefer the 00 and older as parts are dirt cheap and you can fix them with a hammer and bailing wire

I thought it looked low for a 4wd. Also, guy just told me that it was from washington state, no rust on body but underside has some surface rust. Hopefully it checks out nice and will make a nice beater rig.

Any issues with the older vortec motor??

i have a 99 2wd from cali, it's clean on top and on the bottom. Has the vortec 350 with 240k and I would drive it anywhere. They are not the most powerful set-up but they will run forever with the proper maintenance.
