Looking for a reputable shop, motor swap

Like the title says I'm looking for a reputable shop to do a motor swap around the Detroit area, ideally one familiar with GM vehicles. My truck is a clean southern 97 Bravada (4.3, rod knock:icon_mad:) that I'm looking to swap a 5.7 Vortec into. Let me know if you guys have any recommendations I would really appreciate it!

do a ls swap....better gas mileage and more power ;) prolly easier as well

It can't be easier considering going with the 5.7 vortec I can utilize the stock 4.3 wiring harness and PCM along with all the accessories. It's just a daily driver so I'm shooting for a easy v8 swap and reliability. I'm sure the gas mileage will be on par with the 4.3 and that's fine with me. I want everything to work as if the truck is stock. I'd tackle this myself but I don't have the time honestly with my job or a place to work on it.

pardon my lack of knowledge, wasnt aware the harness were a direct swap
but if thats the case you would be correct

TBI to TBI is easy, just swap the computer, on some just the prom

vortec to vortec is easy as well, add 2 injector wires, and flash the PCM, even the fuel lines mate up if its a factory intake

Dave, would you be able to take something like this on? The truck is super clean, came up from south carolina this year.

You need to repin the injector wires on the pcm also, after you flash it to the 5.7 there in different spots. Nothing terrible. I have some diagrams from s10forum and a few links saved to other projects with lots of info on this. The swap isn't too bad but I'm sure it would be time consuming. If anyone else knows of any shops that would be interested in this let me know!

NO tbi motor only you just swap the pcm and injectors

Done it! the injectors are the same with the 4.3 to the 5.7 its just the PROM chip it the ECM thats different. The throttle body is the same from the 2.8 to the 5.7 but the 2.8 has smaller injectors. The 7.4(454) had the 2" throttle body with 65#(?) injectors but they bolt up easily IIRC.
