Live edge table tops...?

I am remodelling my kitchen and have a 48" half wall that I'll be attaching a bar top to. I plan on doing butcher block but we are toying around with alternate ideas.

Does anyone here do or know someone that does live edge tops? I see some ppl on CL but they want $800-1000 which is pricey.

You get what you pay for... there are plenty of people who think they saw something cool on Pintrest and it must be easy. I know a few people who do custom stuff like this and it's awesome, but expensive

I know it’s not local but we have been dealing with a place in Houghton Lake (Attic Treasures) and they have some really nice slabs for counter tops and tables.

We went a little crazy there and spent a bunch of my RZR money on hickory beds and shit for the cabin...

But honestly the real wood stuff they sell blows away our shit at home and I don’t have any regrets.

If you're interested in doing some of this yourself I have a bunch of White Oak, Black Walnut, Silver Maple, and American Elm. I have a 14' long white oak trunk that could do a table 42" wide and an alaskan chainsaw to cut it. If you come and spend the time to slice it up I'd be happy to let you take a few slabs for free.
