Little exhaust smoke

I get a little blue smoke when engine is cold. Not a cloud, but little puffs out the tailpipes. After it is driven it goes away. If it is driven, stopped, then started again it doesn't smoke. Mostly on a cold engine that's sat overnight. I'm Probably trippin, but it is a Ford.

Motor has 2,500 miles. Has a catch can system from the valve covers with a breather on it. There is never any oil in it though, just water.

Ok. I'll do that. Can a motor wear out that quick though? These are AFR Renegade heads. I think these are good stuff. I don't think I'll ever run a solid roller motor again.

Yes.

If your valvetrain geometry is off, it could be putting excess pressure on the guides and wearing them out causing the smoke

Put a pvc on it, see if that helps? Or just new install new valveseals. Sounds like your typical OLD but low mileage chevy. My 305 did it with 60K miles.

Those are great heads but maybe they skimped on the seals. Get the rubbery ones instead of the hard plastic ones.

Thanks for info. It stops smoking once it warms up and is driven. Could it be fuel? Smoke looks gray at some angle, blue from another angle. I'm guessing if the valve guides are wearing they will get worse and it will smoke more eventually?

more info on the build done parts used and anything else relevant is going to help your thread deliver more helpful info.

It could be excessively worn guides and torn seals. Could be worn seals. Have you taken the valve cover off and inspected the valvetrain?

Yes

Voodoo solid roller cam 347, AFR 205 heads. Comp 1.6 roller rockers lunati solid linked lifters, Not sure the valve guides, I think ARP PUSHRODS , stud girdles. 750 carb, Vr jr. Intake, 34* timing ~10:1 comp. sounds like a nascar at high rpm. Not much low end, but look out at high rpm. I'd marry it if it had tits.

Do you know what length pushrods? Have you checked the geometry/contact of the rocker to valve tip to ensure its in the center (not favoring the inside/outside) If the geometry isnt spot on you will tear up guide and seals which could be the case.

I'll find out the size. It does have pushrod guides. I think what I need is someone who really knows their stuff to look at this engine. A lot of $ in this motor. It was originally built by Kinetic but I had to disassemble it because of a broken distributor gear. Trick Flow Part# TFS-21407100. They are 7.1x5/16x.080" wall.

I pulled the plugs. Electrodes all look dry. They do have oil on the threads, more as you go up towards the metal spark plug washer.

ya i can't figure it out either and i don't know why this isn't a sticky..
